LG says file on Disabilities Law still with Delhi govt

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Saturday clarified that the file on Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2017, of the Delhi government's Social Welfare department is still under process with the department and has not been submitted to the LG's office.
The LG's office issued a statement that contrary to reports from some sections of media, the file on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules is not yet been forwarded to the LG's Secretariat.
Earlier, Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam had said that after consultations with the Delhi government's Law department, his Department had sent the file to the LG.
The issue has been making headlines after BJP leader Vijender Gupta blamed the Delhi government for "deliberately delaying the process.
