LG finalises action plan to curb pollution in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal on Friday made final road map of action plan of agencies and stakeholders on measures to combat Air Pollution in Delhi.
Baijal chaired a meeting on Friday at Raj Niwas to review the detailed action plan (for 8 months and 16 months) of agencies/stakeholders on measures to combat air pollution in Delhi.
Delhi government Secretary (Environment) made a detailed presentation before Lt. Governor regarding the Air Action plan for Delhi for 08-16 months.
LG directed that Environment Marshals be deployed in municipal wards to check enforcement of environment laws at the field level.
"The plan was divided into six categories for tackling different sources of air pollution," said Environment Secretary.
Meanwhile, Delhi's air quality worsened from 'moderate' to 'poor' on Friday.
