Labourer dies as iron bar falls on him at construction site in Noida

Noida: A 22-years-old labour was killed after an iron bar fell over him at an under-construction site in phase-2 area of Noida on Sunday morning. Cops said that the deceased was working at the from past eight

months.

According to police, the incident occurred around 7 am on Sunday when the deceased Rakesh, a native of Bihar, had gone for defecation.

"The labourer had gone for defecation on Sunday monring when an a big metal pipe fell over him which carried construction material. The iron pipe hit hit head and he was critically injured. Hearing to his loud cry for help, other labourers at the construction site gathered at the spot and the victim was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed to injuries," said Farmood Ali Pundeer, Station House Officer of Phase-2 police station.

The officer further said that the body was sent for post mortem while a case has been registered in the matter.

"Police teams were informed and the body was taken to custody which was later sent for post mortem. The victim died of severe head injuries while a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered on the basis of complaint filed by an a co-worker. As of now we have not received any complaint from the kin of deceased," added Pundeer.

A senior police officer of Phase-2 police station said that the incident occurred at an under construction factory in Hoizery complex area in Phase-2 while the construction work was being carried out by a local labor contractor.
