L-G constitutes committee with police-public representatives
The Lieutenant Governor had constituted a district level committee in each of the Police District of Delhi to promote interaction between the police and the leaders of the public opinion.
The District Level Committee constituted is chaired by the MP of the area and comprises Members of Legislative Assembly, the Deputy Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and the Chairman of the MCD Zonal Committee as the standing or ex-officio members.
The District DCP concerned has been made the Convener of the DLC. Apart from the official apparatus, the DLC consists of representatives of Resident Welfare Associations (with mandatory participation of RWA of JJ clusters), Trade or Industry Association, Educational Institutions, Women Organizations, Student and Labour representatives of the District concerned.
Since the formation of the DLCs across the 13 Police Districts of Delhi, quarterly meetings are being held regularly. The presence of MPs, Delhi MLAs in these meetings has ensured that the views of the respective provincial and national government on the issues raised in these meetings by esteemed co-opted members are also made known to the audience apart from best possible guidance and
