KV student commits suicide at her residence in Saket

New Delhi: A 17-year-old girl, student of Kendriya Vidyalaya school, committed suicide at her residence in South Delhi's Saket area on Tuesday.

Police said that the parents of another girl had complaint to school that their daughter was beaten up by the deceased.

Police said that the deceased lived with her family in South Delhi area and was studying class 12.

According to police, the case came to light on July 30 at 5.41 pm after they received information at Saket police station that a girl has committed suicide.

A police team rushed to the spot and during the investigation, it has been revealed that the girl committed suicide in her house by hanging herself with a cloth.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar said that on further investigation, it has been found that she is a student of class 12.

Police said that the investigation further revealed that on Tuesday, parent of another girl, who is a student of Class 11th, had complained to the school principal alleging that on July 29 at 12.30 pm, after the school hours, the deceased thrashed the girl along with two other boys outside the school.

"This had caused a sense of insecurity among the parents of the girl who was beaten and they complaint against the deceased to the school ," police said.

On this complaint, the deceased's mother was called to the school. But when she reached school, the teachers had gone and she was told to come next day along with her daughter (deceased).

In the meantime, her daughter committed suicide at her residence.

"So far no foul play has been found in the suicide of deceased. Post mortem of the body has been conducted on July 31 and the body handed over to the family members. They are waiting for the postmortem report. Further investigation is in progress," said DCP South.

Recently on May, a 22-year-old man was found hanging at his house in Nanakpura area. The investigating agency said that they did not recover any suicide note.

In another case, a JNU student allegedly committed suicide on Friday by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in a study room of the university.
