Kidnapper of two Jhansi businessmen arrested

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police crime branch has arrested a desperate kidnapper and a member of the dreaded Ajay Jadeja Gang. His name is Jitender Choudhary alias Jeetu, a resident of Hathras UP, aged 24 years. A cash reward of Rs 50,000 was declared by UP Police for any information leading to his arrest.
Among other cases he is involved in a sensational kidnapping for ransom of two business tycoons and jewelers of Jhansi (UP). He had demanded Rs 25 crore for releasing the victims. He is previously involved in more than 12 cases including kidnapping for ransom, dacoity, attempt to murder, attack on police team and possession of illegal firearms.
On December 9, a police team laid a trap and apprehended Jitender Chaudhary near CNG Pump, main Kanjhawla Road, Sec-21, Rohini, Delhi. He took out his country-made pistol in a bid to escape but was overpowered by a constable. One country-made .315 bore pistol and 2 live rounds were recovered from him.
He was previously arrested by the UP Police in seven cases of attempt to murder, robbery and Arms Act including a sensational dacioty of Rs 50 lakh in Agra from a merchant. He was released from jail in December 2016, after which he joined the Ajay Jadeja gang along with his associate Vinod Jat who was a dismissed constable of UP police.
"In the first week of July 2017, he along with Vinod Jat, Lokender and Narender Sharma robbed one Innova car from the area of Agra which was used by them in the kidnapping of ransom case of Jhansi," said Joy Tirkey, DCP Crime Branch.
"Vinod and Jitender abducted Jhansi-based prominent businessmen Raju Kamraya and Rahul Agarwal while they were on their way to the badminton court on July 12 this year. They wore police uniforms while committing the crime. The gang demanded Rs 25 crore for releasing the victims. Both were rescued later," he added.
