Kendriya Vidyalaya student falls unconscious in school assembly, dies

New Delhi: A 17-year-old student of Kendriya Vidyalaya died on Thursday after he fell unconscious in a school assembly in New Delhi's Gole Market area.
Police said that initial investigation suggests no foul play in the incident.
The deceased was identified as Sonu, a native of Bihar, lived with his family in Railway Colony area in Kishanganj and his father works in Northern Railway whereas his mother is a housewife. Sonu was studying in class XI.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Braja Kishore Singh stated that on Thursday the boy in morning school assembly fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where doctor declared him brought dead.
After getting the information, police team rushed to the spot and started their investigation.
"Initial investigation suggests no foul play but we are waiting for the postmortem report which will clear the reason behind the death. The inquest proceeding is being conducted by area police," said Singh.
Talking to Millennium Post, Sonu's uncle Saroj Kumar stated that the boy had no health issues and like every day, he went to the school.
"He was fit and was not taking any medicine we have doctors in our colony who do regular checkups if Sonu had any problem doctors had informed us," said Kumar.
The family received a call at around 7:30 am from the school that Sonu fell unconscious.
The family members visited the hospital where they came to know about Sonu's death.
Kumar further added that when they saw the dead body they found some teeth were broken and there was blood in the nose.
"He wanted to become an engineer and was studying for his dream but now he is not with us we will miss him. He was the only child of his parent," said Kumar, adding Sonu never had any personal enmity with anyone.
