Kanchan Verma becomes the VC of GDA, Dr. Prabhat Kumar sworn in as YEIDA Chairman

In another major bureaucratic reshuffle of IAS officers on Tuesday afternoon, the Uttar Pradesh government designated two officers on the vacant positions in both Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad regions.

The two IAS officers who are designated in these two regions include Kanchan Verma, who was District Magistrate of Mirzapur, has been made the Vice Chairman of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).

Before Ms. Kanchan, Vijay Yadav who was put on the first list of the bureaucratic reshuffle was in charge previously. He is still among those officers who are waiting for a new posting. Verma, member of IAS, 2005 batch was awarded the Commonwealth Award for Public Administration and Management Innovations Award- 2016 for her outstanding work as Special Secretary, Establishment & Industries Department in UP.

In Gautam Buddh Nagar district, Resident commissioner of UP in New Delhi Dr Prabhat Kumar will take over as the new chairman of Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.

Dr. Prabhat Kumar is a member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 1985 Batch and a member of the Uttar Pradesh Cadre. Dr. Kumar a gold medalist in Medicine has worked in various responsible positions. He took over as Director General of Civil Aviation on January 1, 2014. Prior to this, he was holding the charge of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India since October 2012. Some of the important assignments which he held during his long career include District Magistrate of three Districts viz., Fatehpur, Muzaffarnagar and Kanpur City; Vice-Chairman of Urban Development Authorities of Mussoorie, Dehradun, Moradabad and Lucknow; Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the NOIDA and Director, Business and Country Relations in ICRISAT.
