Kalkaji police station now becomes child-friendly

NEW DELHI: Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, Delhi has inaugurated child friendly room and open gym in the premises of Police Station Kalkaji and a subsidiary central police canteen at DCP office complex, South-East District, Sarita Vihar for retired and serving police personnel and their families.

A Child Friendly Room has been constructed and lawn area of the kalkaji police station has been developed as play area. For entertainment of the children visiting Police Station along with parents and school students visiting the police station on educational tours, various toys have been placed at Child Friendly Room. Some swings, traffic signage have been erected in the lawn. Drawing materials has also been kept in the police station.

This child friendly room will help to remove myth or fear about the police, among the children victim visiting the police stations either themselves or accompany their parents, relatives to file any complaint. Also an open gym has been installed in Police Station Kalkaji to provide opportunity to the police staff to spare some time from their schedule and use gym facilities to keep them fit.

Subsidiary Central Police Canteen at DCP office Complex Sarita Vihar has been launched as a welfare measure for police personnel.

This canteen would cater to the families of serving and retired police personnel, especially residents of 11 police colonies of South-East District and adjoining areas.
