Juvenile arrested for minor's rape, sent to correction home

Noida: A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a juvenile in Sarfabad village under sector 72 of Noida on Monday.

The 12-year-old accused has been arrested by the police and sent to the correction home, said police.

According to the complaint filed by victim's parents, the accused who resides in the neighborhood reached their home on Monday afternoon when the victim was at her home along with her seven-year-old elder sister.

"With an aim to commit the heinous crime, he gave some money to the elder sister and asked her to get some candy from the nearby shop. When the girl went out of the home, the accused juvenile allegedly raped the younger sister and fled away from the spot," said a senior police officer.

Later when the elder sister and her mother came back home, the victim was found crying loudly. When asked, she narrated her ordeal to her mother who informed police about the incident, the officer added.

Police said that the victim belonged to a labour class family. Her father works as a labourer while her mother works as a domestic help in nearby residential societies.

"Upon receiving the information, a police team rushed to the spot and the victim was taken to the district hospital in sector 30, Noida for medical examination. The medical reports have confirmed sexual assault. The victim is still receiving treatment at the hospital and her condition is improving," said Pankaj Pant, station house officer, sector 49 police station, Noida.

"Meanwhile, the accused juvenile has been detained by the police and sent to the correction home. A case under relevant sections of POSCO Act has been registered against the accused" added Pant.
