Juvenile among two held after shootout

New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Friday said they have arrested a man and apprehend a juvenile from central Delhi, after the two were involved in a gun battle with cops on Thursday.
On March 21, accused Devinder and his accomplice, a minor, had gone to Kosi Kalan, Mathura, to procure weapons.
This information reached the Crime Branch team, which had been trailing the gang. They learnt that the accused would take the Surajkund Road to return to Delhi via Faridabad, along with the weapons.
A trap and a police picket was set up at the Delhi-Surajkund border in Pul Prahladpur area and around 4.10 pm on Thursday, the suspects' vehicle hit the barricade and tried to run over the police personnel.
The occupants of the car, five in number, also fire two rounds at the cops, to which the police party retaliated with a shot to burst one of the rear tires of the vehicle. Cops said the accused managed to drive for another kilometre and a half, with the police team on its tail, before turning towards Sangam Vihar and fleeing after abandoning the car.
"On their search, two 9 mm pistols and 26 cartridges were recovered. Search for the remaining accused is on," said Joint CP (Crime) Alok Kumar.
