Jewellery shop looted at gunpoint

New Delhi: Three to four armed men entered a jewellery shop in South east Delhi's Govindpuri on Friday night. It is said that the armed robbers entered the jewellery shop and took the staff hostage after they brandished their guns and knives and looted the shop on gunpoint.

Sources said that in this armed robbery they also opened fire in the air to scare the owners. They collected all the cash and jewellery from the showroom before fleeing.

Soon after the police was informed and the police team reached the spot and began the investigation. The police are now collecting the CCTV footage around the area to know more about the robbers and the way they took while fleeing. A case of robbery has been registered in this regard and the search for for the accused is on.

It is estimated that the robbers took with them jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. Police have formed several teams to arrest the accused.
