Greater Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration on Friday acquired 30 hectares of land from village Dayanatpur for the construction of Jewar International Airport and handed its physical possession to Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). "The administration has to hand over 1,239 hectares of land out of the total 1,334 hectares which is required for the first phase of the project. By far the administration has given physical possession of 78.53 per cent which is 973 hectares of the total required land to YEIDA. Also the administration has distributed compensation of nearly 992 hectares of the land to farmers. Files relating to the rest of the land are being cleared and resettlement and rehabilitation (R&R) packages are being prepared simultaneously," said Singh.
