In major rejig, special CP RP Upadhyay shifted to Arunachal
Three Joint Commissioners of Police and two DCPs were also reshuffled
New Delhi: In a major reshuffle in Delhi Police, Rajender Pal Upadhyay (Special Commissioner of Police) has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh with immediate effect. In another development, three Joint Commissioners of Police and two Deputy Commissioners of Police were reshuffled.
According to the transfer order copy, with the approval of competent authority RP Upadhyay IPS (AGMUT:1991) is hereby transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh, with immediate effect. RP Upadhyay was Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order, South). Upadhyay had also served southeastern range and Crime Branch.
RS Krishnia (Special CP Vigilance and licensing) is posted as Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order south).
In another major development three Joint CPs have been reshuffled. Alok Kumar (IPS–1996) is now Joint CP (Eastern Range). He was earlier Joint CP (traffic). In his tenure, Delhi Police announced the launch of first of its kind "Red Light Violation Detection and Speed Violation Detection System". Alok Kumar himself monitored different initiatives to curb the traffic snarls in the city.
Kumar has replaced Ravindra Yadav who will be now Joint CP (Operations). Ravindra Yadav had also served as Joint CP (Crime) and in his tenure, police solved the kidnapping of a doctor by an Ola cab driver in east Delhi's Preet Vihar. K Jegadesan who was earlier Joint CP (Training) is now Joint CP (traffic).
Suman Goyal who was DCP (Special Branch) has been promoted to Additional CP Vigilance whereas Bhisham Singh (DANIPS–1997) who was DCP (Crime) has been transferred as Additional DCP-1 (North West district).
Singh was among the top officers in Crime Branch who busted several rackets and unearthed several crime module. The Inter-border Gangs Investigation Squad of the Crime Branch under Singh arrested mastermind of the IGNOU paper leak. Fraud on the pretext of providing cheap houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna was also solved by Singh.
