In liquor parties, fraudsters devise ideas to dupe people
New Delhi: Exchange of fraudulent ideas in regular meetings and liquor parties, the cheats, sitting in Jharkhand, are modifying themselves and bringing out different ways to dupe people all over India, revealed during the investigation of a case where a fraudster was nabbed from Jharkhand by Shahdara district of Delhi Police. Police said that arrested Daud Ansari (34) had created fake grievance related portals of different companies to dupe the customers online.
From his interrogation, the investigators learnt that different types of fraud gangs, sitting in Jharkhand, meet each other regularly and share different ideas of cheating. "It can be liquor party or any meeting in which different gang members share the loopholes of the payment applications and also adopt different techniques through which they can dupe people," said an investigator in the case.
Police sources claimed that it is being suspected that Ansari and his gang members were illegally getting one lakh rupees per day. "For the meeting or party, the information to them came through manually. There was no use of any application like WhatsApp to talk," said another investigator adding that apart from cheating, the gang members do not use technology for contacting each other.
According to police, Ansari had also got some learning from other fraudsters about how to speak with their possible targets (victims) so that they can take them into confidence and get the details regarding their bank accounts. "They mostly targeted the North Indian states and also created over 15 e-wallets for money transfer, " investigator said adding that six to seven bank accounts were also used which is being investigated.
"Ansari mostly spent the money for his parties," police said. Police claimed that by sitting in the forested areas, the accused with his gang members used to cheat people. "Not from the home but the fraudsters cheated people sitting in the forest areas so that no one can trace them," police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav said that on November 15, the complainant in the case said that she was cheated by Ansari after she made a phone call thinking him as customer care executive. The team of Cyber Cell Shahdara District under Inspector Sunjay Sharma, SI Devender Chahar, Woman Constable Monika arrested the accused.
In the year 2018, Shahdara district had busted another gang from Jharkhand. From the illegal money, the kingpin had made a posh house in the forested area.
