IIMC students to continue protest

New Delhi: Students at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) continued their protest for the third consecutive day, on Thursday, over the fee hike issue. Students have alleged that fee has been increased in almost all courses.

"There was a 10 per cent hike in both academic and hostel fee," said Aastha, an English Journalism student. Although the Vice-Chancellor had a discussion with the students, nothing concrete came out of the meeting.

She added, "The issue is not just about fee hike, it also includes the issue of hostel accommodation and also revising existing fees for various courses." IIMC has seen an increase in 10 per cent fee hike almost every year.

The students are also demanding a rollback of the notice dated November 28, regarding submission of the second semester fees. "Since these demands still stand, and no concrete consolations have been provided to us, we are continuing with our strike till any further written notice is provided in our favour," said the students.
