Ghaziabad: A 32-year-old husband of a municipal councillor in Loni area of Ghaziabad was allegedly shot in leg by his neighbour at an under-construction site in Laxmi garden area of Loni on Tuesday afternoon. Police suspect property dispute behind the incident while they are waiting for a complaint to lodge an FIR and probe the matter.

According to police, the victim has been identified as Nitin, husband of Bharti, a municipal councillor of ward 9 in Loni area. Cops said that two men allegedly opened fire on Nitin while he was having lunch at his under-construction plot.

The two men, identified as Gaurav and Kittu, who lived in his neighbourhood reached him and a heated argument broke out between them. A couple of minutes later, Gaurav took out a country made pistol and shot a bullet in his leg. Both the accused flee the spot when Nitin retaliated and raised an alarm.
