Homebuyers protest against builder for delay in possession

A contingent of homebuyers held a protest on Sunday against Morpheus Pratiksha builder in Greater Noida West over the delay in delivery of flats. Also, for keeping the construction work stagnant over the years.

The protest was undertaken under the banner of Noida Extension Flat Owner's Main Association (NEFOMA). Home buyers claimed that builder has promised to give away the possession of flats by 2017 but the progress of construction work showcases its impossibility in completing the work before three or four years.
"I booked a flat with all my investments in 2013 with an agreement to get my flat by December-2017. Only 20 per cent work is done and all I can see is raw cemented hollow structures of the building which are built just one or two floors. It will be a total injustice if I am looking to get the possession by 2017." said a flat buyer, Dr. Abhay Gupta. He also stated that he has paid more than 60 percent of the total cost.

"The dual burden of rent plus bank's EMI is unbearable. The buyers were led astray by the builder and they are just making a false commitment. There are no proper clarifications given by the builder. Every month we held meetings with the builder. He dodges the problem showing the monthly construction plan. As we reached the site to see the progress, it was clear that all the promises were false" added Dr. Abhay.

According to the protesters, they will conduct more protests if proper clarifications are not given to them by builders regarding the delay in procurement of occupancy certificates. Some buyers claimed that the builder is powerful which makes them find ways to escape the problem.
"Managing Director of the builder's group, Prithvi Kasana has been posting pictures with big politicians like Noida MLA Pankaj Singh and Anurag Thakur and some Bollywood celebrities too," echoed the buyers.

Anu Khan, Founder, Noida Extension Flat Owner's Main Association (NEFOMA), said, "Around 1500 home buyers are suffering due to builder's negligence. The buyer has always stood for the builder and has always cooperated. As nobody is heeding to their voices, we staged a protest. We demand the builder to bring transparency."

We demand the builder to bring transparency."
