Home buyers to press button in upcoming polls

Greater Noida: In a bid to draw attention of the government, various home buyers' association of Greater Noida West have started a campaign: "No House No Vote" and have insisted home buyers to choose NOTA (none of the above) option in the upcoming polls.

"We are very disappointed as none of the political party had looked into the long prevailing home buyers' issue. We had hopes from the union government as they are in power in the state too, but even the panel of three ministers formed to look into our matter failed to come out with anything concrete. Lakhs of home buyers are still in trouble because of the unholy nexus between the politicians and the builders. Most of the builders either have run away with our money, or diverted the funds elsewhere. We have waited long enough but our homes and the government has not paid any heed to our problems. We have now decided to reach out to maximum number of people to seek their support and press the NOTA button in upcoming elections," said Anu Khan, Founder, Noida Extension Flat Owner's Main Association (NEFOMA).

Khan added that the "No Home No Vote" campaign was already started on Sunday after a meeting held with residents of Rudra KBNOWS society of Greater Noida West, who have promised to extend their support while they will intensify their protest and will reach out to other societies of Noida and Greater Noida for their support.

Meanwhile, Indrish Gupta, CO-Founder, Noida Extension Flat Owner's Welfare Association (NEFOWA) said that the buyers are under great financial crises and mental agony due to the delay in possession of their flats. "Almost every home buyer is under the dual burden of rent as well as bank EMI. Even after raising several complaints to the government and regional authorities, our problems nowhere seems to get resolved, the frustrated buyers, in the view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections started "NO HOUSE NO VOTE" campaign, thus opting to choose NOTA option," said Gupta.

Gupta also claimed that the residents of various residential societies of Noida Extension who have taken possession over their flats and are now eligible to choose the Lok Sabha candidate from Gautam Buddh Nagar have extended their support to them and will press the NOTA button in coming polls.

"Residents of societies such as Supertech Ecovillage-I, Ecovillage-II, Gaur City, La Residentia, Ace City and others are with us and we all will stand together to raise our protest against the government and their candidates as they failed to protect home buyers' interest," added Gupta.
