Home buyers protest in Greater Noida

Greater Noida: Irked over the delayed possession of their 'dream home', scores of home buyers from Mascot Neotown residential project of Greater Noida West staged protest outside the builder's project on Sunday afternoon.

The protest staged against the non-completion of project was held under the banner of Noida Extension Flat Owner's Main Association (NEFOMA).

The home buyers alleged that even after six years of wait, the builder has failed to deliver their houses while the construction work at the site is also stalled.

"Despite several assurances and various announcements from the builder group nothing much has changed on ground. The builder has been giving deadline after deadline for the completion without honouring it and always try to make excuse citing crisis of funds."

"We doubt that the builder might have diverted funds to some other business of project despite completing and deliver possession to home buyers who are suffering under the dual burden of rent and EMIs," said Anu Khan, Founder, NEFOMA.

According to homebuyers, the project was launched in 2012 and its completion was scheduled for 2014. There are around 700 units in the project from which 400 are already sold out.

Home buyers said that since past two years the construction work at the site has been stalled and there are no signs of early completion of the project.
