Heroin worth Rs 15 lakh seized from drug trafficker
New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Monday said it arrested a drug trafficker from west Delhi's Uttam Nagar area and fine quality heroin worth Rs 15 lakh in the international market from his possession.
Cops said that the accused, 42-year-old Dharmender, is involved in 24 criminal cases. In August, the Narcotics Cell of Crime Branch had arrested two men, Sikander – later identified as Dharmendar's brother – and Ankit Kumar, for possessing 500 g of heroin.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that Dharmender, a resident of Uttam Nagar's Hastsal area, is actively involved in supplying heroin in Uttam Nagar.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Bhisham Singh said that Dharmendar was arrested on November 15, on the basis of a tip-off that he would come to road number 236 which leads from Uttam Nagar to Vikas Puri between 5.30 and 6.00 pm for deliver a consignment of heroin.
