Hero cop foils robbery bid, one criminal arrested

New Delhi: On Tuesday night, Head Constable Mukesh Kumar Hooda posted in Geeta Colony, pounced on a group of robbers who were looting a man on the street and got injured in the process.
The robbers dared him to flee and flunged knife but the policeman was in no mood to surrender and managed to hold a criminal while others tried to assault him.
In a final attempt to get out of the clutches of the policeman, a robber flung the knife at Kumar. He was hit just near his neck under the chin.
"However, despite bleeding the Head Constable did not let the criminal go and held on to him. This is an act of bravery and how the policeman has risked his life to save a man from robbers," said DCP Shahdara, Nupur Prasad.
Kumar arrested the criminal who was later identified as Ramaavtaar alias Rahul, a resident of BeguSarai in Bihar.
The police teams are now looking for his associates who are still absconding.
