Health & fitness first: NDMC organises sports event for employees
New Delhi: With the aim to provide health and fitness opportunities to its employees, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has been organising games and sports tournaments every year. And these activities should be mandatory in each and every organisation, so as to promote healthy lifestyle amongst the employees, which will be helpful in enhancing productivity, team spirit and mental sharpness. These has been stated by Rashmi Singh, Secretary, NDMC while speaking at the valedictory function of officers/employees interdepartmental tournaments and sports meet 2018-19 on Tuesday.
She informed that in order to promote sports activities for the students, NDMC provided a platform to the young players to showcase their talent so that they can take the game as a profession in their life. Last year, NDMC started under age 10 girl football academy at three NDMC/Navyug Schools and similar football academy for under age 10 boys will also be opened in this year. The selected boys and girls will trained by the professional coaches.
Out of the 3,500 sportsperson who have participated in the sports events like cricket, hockey, volleyball, football, kabbadi, kho-kho, carom, tug-of-war, relay-race, table-tennis and badminton, besides 815 athlets were given prizes for their first, second and third positions and 26 trophies (15 men teams and 11 women teams) were gave away by her.
