Head police constable shoots himself dead with service revolver
New Delhi: A 51-year-old Delhi Police head constable allegedly shot himself dead with his service revolver in West Delhi's Harinagar on Sunday, police said.
The investigating agency said that the incident is being probed from all angles. So far the probe has revealed that the deceased had some family issue due to which he was tense. Police identified the deceased as Satish who was posted in police station Vikaspuri and was staying in police colony Harinagar. He had two sons and a wife.
"The elder son is with the airforce. He stays with his wife in Assam," said a senior police officer.
According to police, at around 11.40 the incident took place when the head constable was in his house.
"His wife and one son were also there," police said. Suddenly with his service revolver, Satish shot himself in the temple. The people who were nearby rushed to the spot. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead. The police were also alerted about the incident.
"No suicide note was found from the spot," said police. The deceased was the native of Rewari and had joined Delhi Police in the year 1989. "He had some family dispute," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Monika Bharadwaj.
Losing the battle
This is not the first case of Delhi Police personnel suicide recently a 47-year-old Delhi Police ASI allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a metro train on Thursday.
The law enforcement agency said that the deceased was going under treatment and was depressed. Last year a 35-year-old head constable of Delhi
Police on duty at the Delhi Secretariat allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service pistol.
In 2017, a head constable of the Delhi Police, posted in Rohini district, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself while he was on duty.
