He was a doctor with Polish degree but stole bikes

He should have been handling operation scissors and scalpels but instead, master keys were his tools!

He should have been diagnosing diseases but he was found forging documents to sell bikes he stole from different parts of the Capital. A doctor, who went to Poland for doing MBBS, will have Tihar as his new residence.

"A boy on a bike was stopped on suspicion and interrogated. Initially, he tried to mislead the team and insisted that he is a highly

qualified doctor. Due to his soft speaking skills, fluent English and elite appearance, the team went easy. However, during his search on suspicion, two fake driving licenses and two fake RCs were recovered from his possession," said Surender Kumar, DCP (South-west).

On verification, the cops found that his motorcycle was also stolen from Prasad Nagar. This nailed his lies and he spilled the beans by confessing that he is actually an auto-lifter. The accused, Sarfaraz Ahmed, was arrested and interrogated at length.

Several fake number plates, SIM cards, fake IDs, fake RCs, a laptop and a printer have been confiscated from him. As many as 18 high-end bikes and scooties have also been recovered. He has sold more than 50 stolen motorcycles on OLX, Quikr, Click India and others during the last two years.

The cops now suspect the role of his doctor wife whom he met in Poland while pursuing MBBS and got married.

During interrogation, he revealed that he is basically from Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Coming back from Poland, he shifted to Uttam Nagar

but did not have any permanent job.

Due to financial crunch, he adopted such a modus operandi of stealing high-end motorcycles for easy money. He even hired a separate room in Matiala and used it as a godown to store stolen motorcycles. During odd hours, he used to go to identified places and unlock the motorcycles, scooties by using keys or breaking the handle locks.

He used to remove the original number plate and fix a fake number plate on the stolen bikes. With the help of his laptop and printer, he prepared fake RCs, his fake driving licences and ID proofs.
