HC hears plea challenging JNU admission policy
The Delhi high court on Monday heard a petition that challenged the amendments made in JNU's admission policy based on the UGC Notification. Further, the Delhi Police said that the protesters were peaceful, whereas, the university administration denied. Earlier, the Delhi Police said that a peaceful protest was being carried out by the students in the JNU against the recent changes made in the admission policy of the university. However, the administration alleged that the protesters seized the admin block and did not allow any faculty member, students or worker to enter the building. When the matter came up for hearing before the HC on March 1, the police submitted a report stating that the students were holding a protest 50 m away from the block, not disturbing the university's functioning.
