Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that he has sought a report from the Delhi University over the violence at Ramjas College.
"I have sought a report from the University," Javadekar told the media to queries over the incident.
Earlier in the day, he had said the government will not intervene in the matter but assured necessary police action.
Over a dozen people including teachers and journalists were injured when RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists clashed with members of the Left-leaning All India Students Union (AISA) on Wednesday at the college.
The ABVP activists first foiled a seminar where a key speaker was a JNU student arrested last year for sedition and then allegedly attacked students and others.
