The protest has been led in the wake of opening the Ala Hazrat Haj house which was sealed upon an interim order of the National Green Tribunal.
On Monday, the congress leaders joined the protesters and demanded the district administration to act immediately into the matter and provide a respite to the Haj pilgrims coming from Uttarakhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh by allowing them to stay in the Haj House. But the district administration contended that it was not the custodian of the building.
On Monday evening, the protestors turned violent and they attacked the police and vandalized three vehicles of the commuters on GT road and a traffic police jeep. In the fatal incident, a lady police constable was injured and suffered fracture in her hand. Following the incident, a delegation of workers from UP Congress Committee met district administration officials demanding a fair probe into the matter.
