Gzb student's death: Parents of kids petition DM

Following the death of 10-year-old Armaan Sehgal at G D Goenka school in Indirapuram on Tuesday, the infuriated parents of other students met District Magistrate (DM), Ministi S and handed her their written memorandum, asking the administration to act strict against the school's lack of safety measures and flouting building construction norms.
The parents also demanded the administration to provide compensation to Armaan's parents against the death of their child due to the school's negligence.
"We demand strict and quick actions against the G D Goenka school. Armaan's death was a part of school's negligence. The director and the principal must be arrested at the earliest," said one of the agitated parents.
"There are several other such private schools that are flouting the Supreme Court's guidelines and building norms. A proper inspection followed by strict actions should be initiated against them at the earliest. Such conditions have created a threat among the parents as they feel that the life of their ward is always at a risk," he added.
Armaan's death has created panic and the parents stepped up their attack against the schools flouting the safety norms.
"As per Supreme Court's guidelines, the school is not allowed to conduct classes of the students in smaller standard at higher floors. The court has directed all the schools to construct the building within two floors only. Even after this, the schools openly defy the directions by constructing multi level buildings of their schools.
"Shockingly, some schools are also conducting classes in the basement as well. We demand the administration to look into the matter as it is concerned with the safety of our child," said Satyapal Chaudhary, one of the parents.
