Gzb administration holds meeting with private schools

Ghaziabad: The district administration of Ghaziabad on Tuesday held a meeting with all the school across the district to convey better and stringent security guidelines to ensure more safety of the students.
The meeting was held in the wake of recent crimes and accidents reported from various schools in Delhi-NCR which had exposed the laxity in the security measures taken up by these private schools.
The guidelines included security and safety measures starting from the main gate of the school covering building, canteen, swimming pool, drinking water, sanitation and electric supply.
Present in the meeting were Ghaziabad's District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari, Senior Superintendent of police H N Singh, principals of all the private schools and other senior district level officers.
"We have formulated and conveyed the guidelines to all the private schools for the safety and security of students. A time period has been set to ensure that the schools comply with these guidelines which will be followed by an inspection by the team of officers. Strict actions will be taken against the school administration if non-compliance of any guideline is reported," said Maheshwari.
As per the guidelines issued, all the private schools will now have to be equipped with CCTV cameras at the main gate as well as all the classrooms, corridors and stairs which should be properly checked and their functioning should be monitored by the school administration.
Proper information of the visitors should be maintained in a register along with a proper police verification record of security guards and workers in school.
Separate toilets will also be built for the visitors. The food provided in the canteen should be tasted and checked by the concerned official before being provided to the students.
