Gurugram public agencies fail to repair potholes

Gurugram: Heavy rains during monsoon last year also had its adverse impact on Gurugram residents as large parts of the city roads hasve developed potholes.

To improve the situation, the public agencies in the city had first set a deadline of January 24 to repair all the potholes. Failing to meet its initial deadline the time limit was extended to February 10. Forget the situation of internal roads even prominent city roads like MG road, New railway road, Mahaveer Chowk and August Kranti Marg busy routes used by thousands of commuters daily are filled with potholes.

Following the poor state of road infrastructure, various residents have taken to social media and are demanding accountability from the public officials. Not only are their complaints of the poor condition of roads from the private colonies but there are also complaints of the poor upkeep of roads maintained by the public agencies.

Most of the resident bodies, however, claim that there is a lack of proactive action among the public agencies towards the improvement of roads in the city. In the past residents have pooled money themselves to build and maintain roads for better connectivity.
