Gurugram Police nabs man wanted for murder

Gurugram: Gurugram Police on Sunday night arrested a notorious gangster wanted for a murder in Haryana's Rohtak.
The accused, identified as Rahul Bharadwaj, was arrested from Kherki Daula area, after enforcement officials received a tip-off from sources about his hideout.
Police said that a pistol and 11 live cartridges were recovered from the accused.
Besides the murder, Bharadwaj was also involved in several burglaries, kidnappings and making extortion threats.
Even though he used to mostly operate in and around areas of Rohtak, Gurugram Police are carrying out an investigating to ascertain he whether was trying to expand his criminal network to Gurugram.
"The arrest of Rahul Bharadwaj is a major success for our team. Even though he claimed that Gurugram was a hideout for him, we are trying to find out whether was he planning to carry out his nefarious activities in Gurugram as well," said a senior official from Gurugram police on Monday.
In November last year, Jharkhand gangster Akhilesh Singh, who had 56 cases of heinous crimes registered against him, was held in Gurugram.
