Gupta asks govt to convene special session of Assembly
NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Thursday asked the Delhi government to immediately call a special session of the Assembly to apprise it of the Lieutenant Governor's message on department-related Standing Committees (DRSC), as reported in the certain section of media.
Gupta said that as per media reports, the LG's Office has written to Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi that these Committees have been given unconstitutional powers. Gupta added that it has been further reported that the LG has asked that these Committees must be withdrawn.
Gupta said that the Opposition would meet the LG for for calling the special session.
