Gupta accuses CM of supporting Kanhaiya
New Delhi: The Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta on Friday accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of supporting Kanhaiya Kumar, an accused in the JNU sedition case who is fighting for a Lok Sabha seat from Begusarai on a CPI ticket. The BJP MLA said that by agreeing to campaign for Kumar in the upcoming polls, he has shown his true colours.
Further adding to the accusations, Gupta said that the reason Delhi Police has been delaying the filing of chargesheet in the JNU sedition case, is because Kejriwal has been hindering the process by not giving the authorities the necessary permissions. He also said that by showing his political support to CPI's candidate Kanhaiya Kumar, Kejriwal has revealed that his real sympathies lie with the group raising anti-India slogans led by Kumar. "It is his well thought conspiracy to ensure that Kanhaiya Kumar fight Lok Sabha election without any obstacle. Had he been chargesheeted, his candidature and campaigning would have come under clout. Kejriwal wanted to facilitate Kanhaiya's uninterrupted political activity," he added. Moreover, Gupta said that the Kejriwal Governments' stand in JNU sedition case has exposed the anarchist mindset of the AAP chief. "Though he had no role to play in the JNU affair, he had jumped into the fray with his secret agenda. He was so restless to help them. He had ordered judicial inquiry on February 13, 2016 into anti-national slogans raised at JNU," Gupta said.
