Gulel Gang men travelled from TN to rob Delhiities, 2 nabbed

NEW DELHI: Two members of notorious Gulel gang have been apprehended by Delhi Police from Kalkaji in South East Delhi. The duo have been identified as Sathyaraj, 31, and Subramanyam Kamal, 32, both residents of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, one button knife, one gulel and four small iron balls, were recovered.

With the arrest of the accused persons, three cases of theft were solved.

On December 20 at around 11 pm, team of PS Kalkaji comprising of HC Avneesh Tyagi and Ct Sandeep were patrolling on Outer Ring Road. During patrolling, police staff gathered information about members of Gulel Gang. The said information was further developed and police team reached near Bhairo Mandir and nabbed 02 persons who were identified as Sathyaraj and Subramanyam.

"During sustained interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they both are native of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Both the accused persons are illiterate and work for one Armugam, who is kingpin of this gang. Both the accused persons used to come to Delhi by Train and they lived near guest houses near railway station. Further, their gang leader Armugam used to come and go by air only and he used to take stolen property with him only, to dispose them in Tamil Nadu," said DCP South east Chinmoy Biswal.

Accused persons stated that they with their gang leader Armugam used to target vehicles near shopping or business complexes. Accused persons used to conduct recee near parking areas and target vehicles having laptop bags in them. Accused used to break the window of the parked car, with the help of Gulel or in case of a driver in the parked car, accused persons used to lure him by throwing some 10 rupees notes on the ground and very swiftly used to steal laptop bags from the cars.
