Guest teachers' help sought to educate children with special needs

NEW DELHI: In an attempt to educate children with special needs from poor families in the city, the Delhi government will re-engage guest teachers in its schools, the Social Welfare department said on Friday.
Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam, along with senior officials, met the teachers on Friday.
"We will ensure equal pay for these teachers as per law. I will not tolerate any injustice with the teachers," Gautam said.
Sources in the Department said that Gautam has directed officials to make plans to recruit teachers to the respective schools.
The Department aims to ensure overall development of children with special needs.
Gautam also hopes that with time, the Department will make these teachers permanent. According to sources, Gautam has asked officials to present information on requirement of teachers for special education. The recruitment process will start soon.
The Social Welfare department focuses on the development of the special children of the Capital.
Education Minister Manish Sisodia has repeatedly stressed that the government wants to give quality and affordable education to all.
