Gogi gang member held with two weapons, planned to kill rival gang

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday said officers from Alipur police station arrested a known associate of the Gogi Gang in Delhi with two weapons, thus preventing him from killing two rival gang members to avenge his cousin's

murder.

Police identified the accused as one Deepak (28), whose cousin Arun of the Gogi Gang was allegedly murdered by rival gang members last year. Deepak was a close associate of Jitender aka Gogi, leader of the Gogi Gang operating in the Delhi NCT region.

During interrogations, police said Deepak was conspiring to avenge his cousin's murder and also planned to murder one other Sunil with the guns seized at the time of arrest.

The accused was caught with one 9mm pistol with five live cartridges, one country-made pistol with one live cartridge, and one Pulsar motorcycle, reported stolen at the Ranjeet Nagar police station.

Deepak's arrest came through as a result of secret information developed by officers of Alipur police station and they promptly apprehended the suspect, according to a statement issued by the police.

A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigations into the matter are continuing.
