Goa Governor inaugurates NDMC's Hindi seminar

New Delhi: Goa Governor Mridula Sinha inaugurated the New Delhi Municipal Council's two-day International Hindi seminar on Friday, which is being hosted to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary, in collaboration with the Vishwa Hindi Parishad at the NDMC Convention Centre. Delegations from over six countries and several universities across the country attended the inauguration.

Sinha underlined the importance of Hindi and said that parents would like to teach Hindi to their children

as it provides an added opportunity for employment and added that it should be a common family language. MoS in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Jitendra Singh was also present at the event and said that it is the need of the hour to initiate a sustained and spontaneous movement to promote and popularize the Hindi language among the masses.

Speaking at the inauguration NDMC Secretary Rashmi Singh said that parents should inculcate the habit among their children to speak in Hindi

with their family members and that it is their duty to teach their children Hindi on a priority basis.
