Girl dressed up like boy to commit theft

New Delhi: A 22-year-old girl who dressed up like a boy and then committed crime was arrested from North East Delhi. City police claimed that she had been doing such act for six months. According to the police, the accused is a resident of Karawal Nagar. One surgical blade and one robbed phone were recovered from her possession.
On January 3 at about 12.30 pm, a PCR call regarding snatching of the mobile phone of the caller was received at Karawal Nagar police station. The police team reached the spot near Sri Ram Chowk, Shiv Vihar, Karawal Nagar and met caller Manish Pal who was along with his friend Manoj. Manish claimed that on January 3, he along with his friend Manoj was returning home after attending coaching class at Karawal Nagar.
"On the way, they were stopped by one girl dressed like a boy and demanded his mobile phone. When he objected, the girl took out a surgical blade from the pocket of her pant and threatened him to hand over the phone. He got afraid and called for help from the nearby shopkeeper that he also showed his helplessness due to fear. In the meanwhile, the girl snatched his mobile phone and fled from the spot," said DCP (north-east) AK Singla. He also chased and find out her residence.
During investigation, the accused was arrested and interrogated. The robbed mobile phone and one surgical blade used in crime was also recovered.
