GGSIU expunges 'objectionable' question from its records

New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIU) on Thursday said it has expunged from its records an 'objectionable' question that was asked in a law exam, and apologised for "hurt caused to the sentiments of any person, community or members of the society in general".

"Expressing regrets, the university said it was taking all possible measures to avoid recurrence of such an incident," the University said in a statement. "As a public institution, the university assures the people of the country that it is committed to the national ethos of secularism, pluralism and multiculturalism," it added.

The university had courted controversy after a question, with communal overtones, was posed in its Law of Crimes-I examination paper (LLB205) — held on December 7 for its third-semester BA/BBA LLB programme.
