Ggn cops seize vehicle with illegal weapons

A week before the celebration of nation's 71th Independence Day, the Gurugram Police achieved a major success in seizing a vehicle that was carrying huge amount of illegal weapons and arrested four persons.
Based on the information from their confidential sources, the District police was provided the information that a vehicle carrying large number of weapons will pass through Sohna Road to go towards Badshahpur.
Upon receiving the information, the police set up barricades at various intersections of Sohna Road that resulted in the arrest of four persons who were travelling in Maruti Swift car and carrying the weapons along with them.
The police recovered two country-made pistols and 11 live cartridges, one short carbine and eight live cartridges, one country made revolver with four live catridges and 34 live cartridges that was stored in the car's dashboard.
The four persons who have been arrested identified as Bijender, Harender, Ashok and Deepak. While Bijender was from Gurugram, Harender and Deepak are from Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh and Ashok from disrict Gautam Buddh Nagar in the same state.
Along with carrying these weapons in the car, the police also recovered two country made pistols, one short carbine, one revolver and 57 live catridges in their possession. A case under illegal arms act has been registered against them.
The senior officials of Gurugram Police later revealed that the four were also involved in the July murder case of a local businessman Raj Kumar in which a criminal case was registered against them.
"It is definitely a huge success that before a big event, we have been able to capture these criminals. We will now be interrogating to know that for what purpose they were carrying such huge cache of weapons," said Sumit Kuhar DCP (crime) Gurugram.
