Ggn cops nab trio for abducting, killing Haryanvi singer

The crime branch of Gurugram Police on Sunday night nabbed three criminals who were responsible for abduction and murder of the Haryanvi folk singer Joginder popularly known as Lala Saini.
The three criminals have been identified as Gaurav (26), Mahesh (26) and Sachin (21).

The three were travelling to Gurugram from Jhajjar in a Swift car when they were stopped by the Gurugram police at a check post near Chandu Village. After interception, the cops were surprised to find a dead body hidden in the boot of the car. Also, three country-made pistols and four live cartridges were recovered from the car. After proper investigation, the body was identified as Lala Saini, the Haryanvi singer.

On March 18, Mahesh and Gaurav had gone to Hissar to attend the wedding ceremony of Sachin's relative where they met Lala Saini who had come to perform at the event. Following this, the trio planned to abduct the singer and demand ransom. Though they succeeded in kidnapping the singer but their plans received a jolt as the singer refused to buckle under the threat. After this, in a fit of rage, the accused shot Saini.

Then, the trio planned to dump the dead body in Gurugram. But, before that, they stole his gold chain, gold ring and even his Swift car.

Cases against the trio have been registered at Rajendra Park police station in the city under relevant sections for committing murders burglary and kidnapping.

"Gaurav belongs from Rohtak, Mahesh from Jhajjar and Sachin from Hissar," said police. Even though the accused were not natives of Gurugram, but all of them had cases of burglaries registered against them at a city police station in Gurugram.

Sumit Kuhar, DCP Crime, Gurugram said: "The trio was caught after the checking at the Chandu T point. It seemed that they were scared when the police asked them to stop for checking. The driver left the car and started running. Later it was revealed that they were burglars who had murdered the Haryanvi folk singer Lala Saini. The trio were dazzled by the singer's and tried to loot him. However, as they were refused by the singer, they ultimately shot him dead and tried to dump his body in Gurugram, but their plans failed."
