Ggm man shot at by miscreants in a failed robbery bid

Gurugram: A man identified as Dhirendra was shot on his leg on Monday night after a failed attempt to rob his car. Two persons are believed to be involved in the incident.

One man involved in the act who has been identified as Shekhar has been arrested after he was caught by the locals while fleeing away.

The incident occurred in Sector-81 where Dhirender had halted for some work. Sensing an opportunity to rob his car, two-person who was armed with a gun tried to intimidate the victim to hand over the keys of the car to them.

On this Dhirendra began shouting which resulted in the assailants firing gunshots at him.

Out of the three gunshots fired one bullet pierced through the victim's leg. By this time, however, there were certain locals who came to the area and grabbed one of the attackers.

Dhirendra who works in a multinational company has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving the treatment.

"We have arrested one person involved in the act and the other will be arrested soon. Based on our investigations the culprit involved in the act are locals," said an official from Gurugram police.

"It is a worrying fact that in areas of New Gurugram there is a large number of incidents of people robbing cars by scaring the victims by armed weapons. The law enforcement officials should increase the patrolling in these areas," said Yashesh Yadav a city resident.

Recently a petrol pump employee who was carrying Rs 8 lakhs was stabbed on the hand by the robbers who were able to flee with the amount in a busy route of Sector-14.

Shockingly, most of the incidents are happening not only in the desolate places but also in crowded places and that too during the rush hour.
