GB Nagar police solve 2 separate robberies
GB Nagar: Gautam Buddh Nagar police have worked out two separate robbery incidents reported from sector 20 and Dadri police station areas and arrested seven persons in connection with these cases.
Police have also arrested a criminal carrying reward of Rs 25, 000 on his head in connection with one of these incidents.
In first incident reported from sector 20 police station area on June 17, a cigarette trader was robbed with over Rs 11 lakh 58 thousand by bike borne assailants from sector 21 red light in broad daylight.
According to police, the arrested persons have been identified as Aman, Waseem, Shahrukh, Aas Mohammad and Ajam, all native of Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh nagar districts.
Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gautam Buddh Nagar said that the main accused identified as Aman had went to give an interview for a job in the cigarette agency ended up plotting a loot.
"The arrest was made from sector 20 round about on Saturday night. Upon interrogating the accused persons, they told police that during his interview, Aman came to know that the cash from the agency was transferred to the bank by cash deposit employee through a Scooty. He hitched a conspiracy to commit the loot and involved his four friends into the robbery," said Krishna.
The officer further said that one among the arrested five accused persons is a history sheeter of Sector 58 area. Police has recovered Rs. 5, 07,000 from the arrested accused.
In another incident, police arrested two more accused in the alleged robbery of Rs 25 lakh in the Dadri area about two weeks earlier. Cops said that they have managed to recover almost the entire amount looted from two wheat traders.
"As many as three accused involved in the robbery have been earlier arrested with cash of about Rs. 10,50,000," the officer said.
