Gautam seeks help from KISS to educate the poor

NEW DELHI: In an attempt to strengthen efforts of the Delhi government to educate underprivileged children, Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam visited Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Odisha on Monday.
The government aims is establish large centres in the city to educate poor children.
It is to be noted that KISS runs a centre in Delhi, in association with the government.
The centre is located at Issarpur in Najafgarh, and is aimed at educating the poor.
Gautam, during his visit, discussed plans of expanding the initiative. Earlier, Gautam had said: "One of our government's prime focus areas is the empowerment of poor."
During the visit, he addressed a gathering of 25,000 children of Odisha.
Meanwhile, the plan of the Social Welfare department will be to encourage more SC/ ST children to study.
Gautam, who also holds SC/ST Welfare portfolio, will accommodate underprivileged children in this Institute.
With the help of KISS, the government will expand infrastructure of the institute and campaign among the poorer sections of the city.
Gautam ensured the administration that with their help, the Delhi government would take up more students in from the future. The minister has already started working towards taking guest teachers to teach for poor students.
