Gautam lashes out at police over rising crimes against SC/STs

NEW DELHI: Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam has alleged that crimes against the Capital's SC/ST populace is rising right under the nose of the police, and also condemned the culprits in the incident where a copy of the Constitution was set on fire.

The issue of burning of the Constitution had been raised in the Delhi Assembly by Gautam on Friday, saying that a group of culprits had raised slogans against Dr BR Ambedkar. He urged Speaker Ram Niwas Goel to ask the Delhi Police Commissioner about the action taken in the case.

Delhi Police on Friday said that an FIR has been registered against an organisation Youth for Equality for shouting slogans against the SC/ST community and burning a copy of the Constitution at Parliament Street on Thursday.

Cops added the complaint was filed by Anil Tanwar, national in-charge of Akhil Bhartiya Bheem Sena, at Parliament Street police station.
