Gangster kidnaps his lawyer for ransom, held

New Delhi: A 43-year-old gangster kidnapped his own lawyer and sought a ransom of Rs 15 lakh from his wife, but was unlucky as the lawyer freed himself and later the accused was arrested from Kalindi Kunj on March 21.
DCP (Crime) Dr G Ram Gopal Naik said that the accused Krishan Solanki, was a declared Proclaimed Offender in an abduction case of lawyer Ashok Yadav, wherein Solanki and his associate Vicky abducted Yadav from his office at Palam Colony, New Delhi.
"The accused abducted the lawyer along with his driver and then in the lawyer's car, they took him to a factory in Keshavpuram where they tortured him. Solanki contacted the wife of the lawyer and demanded Rs 15 lakhs for his release," said the DCP.
DCP Naik further stated that the lawyer managed to escape from their clutches. A case of abduction, robbery and criminal intimidation was registered on the complaint of lawyer Ashok Yadav against Krishan Solanki and his associates. Later, he was arrested.
Police claimed that since then, in fear of getting convicted in the case of abduction of his lawyer he did not attend the proceedings in the court and subsequently he was declared a proclaimed offender.
