Gangster involved in day light murder arrested

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Thursday said that they have arrested a gangster from Rohini area who was involved in day light murder case in Narela area.

The accused was carrying the reward of one lakh rupees. Police identified the accused as Dushyant alias Monu Bajitpur and recovered one loaded semi automatic pistol.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwah stated that the arrest was made on the basis of tip off that Monu would visit Sector 16, Rohini, Delhi near nullah to meet his associate.

The DCP further said that on February 1, a day light incident of murder was executed near school in Narela.

In this incident, the accused and his associates were found involved in the murder of one Vikas Chauhan.

"This incident raised several concerns regarding the increasing incidents of gangwars in Delhi. After this incident efforts were made to arrest Monu Bajitpur. A reward of Rs. 1 Lakh was also subsequently declared on information leading to his arrest," said DCP Special

Cell. Police said that the accused is a close associate of dreaded Neeraj Bawania gang.

Initially in the year 2010, he came in contact with the Kala Asodiya and Neeraj Bawania through his maternal uncle, Krishan, who was also a gangster.

"His association with Kala Asodiya and Neeraj Bawania resulted in his rivalry with the dreaded gangs of Neetu Dabodia and Ashok Pradhan. Neetu Dabodia gang was subsequently taken over by Ashok Pardhan and Rajesh Bawania after Neetu Dabodia died in an exchange fire with Special Cell, " police said.

This gang rivalry has resulted in killings of several persons from both the sides.

There has been three attempts to kill Monu Bajitpur in the past by the rival gang.
