Four held with Marijuana

Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police, on early Wednesday morning, arrested four persons following an encounter from sector 54 area under sector 24 police station jurisdiction. Police officials said that around 50 Kilograms Marijuana, which they smuggled from Odisha to Noida in car, has also been recovered from the possession of accused persons.

According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Rajeev Yadav (31), Gunjan Rai (26), Gulshan Yadav (25) and Mangal Lal (23). Police said that all the accused are natives of Bihar and they lived at rented accommodations in Chauda village of Noida.

"Acting on a tip-off from an informer, police checkpoint was placed near spice mall. As we saw the white Tata Indigo car coming towards us, we signalled them to stop but they break the post and start firing on the police. Police chased them and the accused persons entered a forest in sector 54 area where the car hit a tree and stopped," said Pankaj Pant, Station house officer, sector 24 police station.
