Four held for cloning 50 credit, debit cards at Ggn

The crime branch of Gurugram Police has arrested four people who were involved in cloning of 50 credit and debit cards to steal money from the residents of Gurugram.
The four were identified as Sanjay, Rahul Yadav, Sonajeet and Ajay Raghav will be charged under relevant sections the IT act.
The police have also recovered some cash and laptops from them.
The police were able to catch hold of the culprits after a complaint was filed at Sector-56 station by one of the complainants where she had stated that Rs 50,000 were stolen from her account using her cards. According to police, the leader of gang was Raghav, who along with his other three colleagues, used to clone cards at the malls in the city.
"As we enter into digital age, the cyber crimes have also increased. Though it is a new challenge for our team we are trying to keep up to it. Most of the people who are using digital transactions need to be careful so that the criminals do not get to know their codes, "said Sumit Kuhar DCP (Crime) Gurugram police.
Police have got in touch with the employees with banks, restaurants, petrol pumps and call centres to prevent leak of vital customer information that can be exploited by the criminals.
Thefts through credit/debit card and data thefts are the highest in number of as last year, there were more than 2,000 cases of cyber crimes reported from Gurugram.
